Kobudo is a Japanese (Okinawan) martial arts focused on weapons training. Kobudo was developed on the Okinawan islands of Japan and concentrates on traditional Okinawan weapons such as the Bo, Sai, Tonfa and Nunchaku. Kobudo practice is often included as supplemental training in many Karate schools.

Kobudo weapons are used primarily in demonstrations, self-defense training and weapons katas. While the primary weapons used for training may vary from dojo to dojo, Kobudo generally utilizes twelve martial arts weapons (i.e. Bo).
